Happy Tuesday Loves! Today I am highlighting a warm autumn day , unseasonably sunny, and a fabulous bridal show from Michal Medina.
Hello ! Last weekend I went to a blogger's meet up at Chicos in Manhattan, and I met some fabulous ladies! I also discovered why Chico's is such a popular shopping place! Below, I am being playful. Getting a quick photo in while I am also peeking at some sweaters! Chicos was very gracious for … Continue reading Meeting New Blogger Friends!
Like these warm October days, with summer flowers still verdant and vivid, I think the fifth decade is a surprisingly good one. Despite my age, or perhaps because of it, I feel like I am blossoming; growing and reaching towards something bright. The fifth decade of my life has been good to me. Follow my … Continue reading The Fifth Decade: still blossoming
Hello My friends. While there are issues much more profound, we fashionistas are trying to look autumnal while wearing summer weight clothes. Global weirding, anyone? What to do? My outfit felt more like the hues of the leaves falling from the trees, despite temps in the high 70's, when I added statement tights, in … Continue reading Transition to Fall with Statement Tights
Yesterday I wore a bright sweater with "Gucci" vibes, and distressed denim. Today, after reading the headlines, I would not choose to wear color. I would want to wear black. I was at Bloomingdales supposing their efforts to fight breast cancer, and I bought two items where the proceeds went generously to that cause. I have included a shopping collage, for those of us who want the shopping distraction!
In dark times, it is helpful to embrace Fashion and Art; to train our eyes, collectively, on the light at the end of the tunnel. I wish you peace, joy, and the bit of light that comes with illumination.
Hello loves! Today, I am featuring the anatomy of a #NYFW outfit, that represents slow fashion, and the eclectic mix that is my signature style. Much of it is up-cycled. Also included are some fun shots of the attendees of the shows, and some colorful street style looks!
Wishing you a happy weekend!
Today I am featuring #wiw to last weeks DapperQ runway show in the Brooklyn Museum. I wore a sheer sleeved LBD bought from a local boutique . I also carried a second-hand designer bag, where the proceeds go to support battered women. Now more than ever, we should vote with our dollars and #shopsmall and #shoplocal. Thank you so much for reading!
I am an independent blogger as you know. This year I thought long and hard about which shows I wanted to attend and cover. ( Yes, belatedly still more to come) When I was invited to the dapperQ production featuring gender fluid style, with seven designers , I thought, YES!
This show was one of the most diverse runway shows ever, and on my blog, as in my life, I value inclusiveness.
I value that each of us feels comfortable in his or her skin, irrespective of sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, gender, and skin color. xoxo, Elle
In its annual Official #NYFW fundraising Gala, FASHION, FUN & POP BY RICHIE RICH, the Carol Galvin Foundation presented a fabulous Broadway styled evening of fashion, celebrity and music. Meredith O'Connor performed as well as Aaron Carter. MIMI Tran was the lead designer and her feminine and form fitting pieces drew enthusiastic applause. What a fabulous night, and a great way to support breast cancer victims.
We find ourselves a bit past the mid-point of #NYFW. I have enjoyed many runway shows, but was especially enthusiastic about the Runway Gala hosted by The Carol Galvin Foundation to benefit cancer. This post just is a preview of the shows to come, and a bit of a #WIW post as well. More to come!
Stay safe from the storms! Sending love from New York City!
