SO THE TITLE SAYS IT ALL. I recently went to a fabulous fashion-design exhibit, and enjoyed the exemplary clothing. I wore a simple tiered, denim skirt and a cold shoulder blouse that is embroidered in a vivid floral motif.
I HAD A STRANGER TAKE THESE SNAPS IN FRONT OF A LOCAL MARKET NEAR THE COSTUME EXHIBIT. I LIKE THE FLOWERS BEHIND ME AS THEY COMPLIMENT MY COLD SHOULDER BLOUSE. BELOW AS CLOSE UP: MY BAG IS VINTAGE CHANEL.
The costume exhibit was so inspiring. I am going to show you some of my favorite pieces from the show. Below, I hope you can see the fine pleating on the sleeves and the bottom of the cropped, slim trousers.
I love the wide, butterfly printed waist , and the bold necklace. Below, two easy pieces, that are just right, and look comfortable to wear, too! Great muted colors, but not dull!
Next is a fringed dress that is a combo of carefree Boho and button up Prairie Girl. Dolce meets Ralph Lauren?
I edited this close-up to black and white so you can see the sleeve detail better.
Below, a favorite, chosen for its stunning drape, gathering, lace detail and overall drama!
So by now I Imagine you are wondering this:
WHAT FABULOUS NYC MUSEUM ARE THESE PHOTOS FROM? WHICH DESIGNER IS THIS? HINT:
Surprised! Impressed? Me, too!
This is the work of high school students at the High School of Art and Design in Manhattan's Midtown East. I wish I could tell you more, and I hope to in a future post, but these shots were taken after school was out. ( by me)
