We find ourselves a bit past the mid-point of #NYFW. I have enjoyed many runway shows, but was especially enthusiastic about the Runway Gala hosted by The Carol Galvin Foundation to benefit cancer. This post just is a preview of the shows to come, and a bit of a #WIW post as well. More to come!

Wondering how to wear white after Labor Day? Lets ditch the old rules and look at white as a cool neutral for autumn. Think cozy sweaters, soft capes, white shirtings over denim, in any color. Do not forget a winter-white coat in a good wool or cashmere, a true luxury piece that will always be in style. I added some shopping and styling ideas to this post. Remember , when possible, shop small and local!
Sam, Linna and I took to the streets for this authentic street style shoot! We are all from 3 different generations, but we share common values. I enjoyed styling these gorgeous , and so much younger, girls ! We had a wonderful time, the way friends do, and the photoshoot ended up with an early, ad hoc dinner, New York style ! Labor Day is quiet and filled with the sweet warm days of summer. Family is gathered and it is a special time to relax and enjoy what matters. I wish everyone a good holiday weekend, and I hope you are safe from the storm .
I met my friend Sam in the very chic Kimberly Hotel last week. I styled her before we walked to this fabulous place, that features a great restaurant, elegant lobby, and lively rooftop bar. Despite our age difference, we had so much fun discussing art, politics, and love. We actually think very much alike. -- She looked stunning of course, and all eyes were on her!
Dressed in a #EvaMendes wrap skirt, via NY&C , I went out to see the solar eclipse The sky went dark and the crescent moon was the same fiery orange as my bag, and dimmed to the coral of my top. I did not intend to mirror this miraculous natural event with my random outfit choice , but there it is. What wonderful experience : throngs of New Yorkers were lining the street and erupting into gleeful OOHS and AHHS- What a lovely change of venue and mood for this city, and elsewhere, I am sure!
Shot on the streets of Manhattan, I am wearing an eclectic look defines my style: colorful, creative, and anti-formulaic. I own it. But the best part of the shoot, was when a passerby saw my friend shooting this look, and offered to shoot us together. New Yorkers Rock! I witness, and practice, kindness everyday. That's my style, too. First and Foremost!

I enjoyed the grand opening of the Midtown East location of Studio 34, a salon that specializes in balayage and ombre hair color . The opening celebration was lavish and fun. I wore a silk tiered halter dress, a mini bag by Coccinelle, and a cuff bracelet via Etsy, made by Swarovski. I love to support small and local! --- Ok, this city blogger is off to the Hamptons for a bit! Happy weekend!
I am wearing a thrifted dress. It was discarded, and then up styled by me for $10.00. The proceeds support shelters for battered women. In this precarious world, it is important to remember that we vote with our dollars. I try to shop local, shop small, and up-cycle. True style should include a social contract that brings light into the world.
Wearing a cold-shoulder floral and striped blouse, I went out to a fabulous fashion design exhibit. The talented designers? You will be surprised to know they are high school students at the High School of Art and Design in NYC!
A busy city day in Manhattan has me on the street and wearing ruffled black trousers, pearl trimmed Gucci boots, and a vintage Gucci bag, I added a metallic and lace sweatshirt . Summer is a time for celebrations! In the Hamptons, this generally means a party at a friend's home or a lobster dinner at the beach . But this was a very special event, and I wore a beaded maxi, my version of a LBD. I added depth and detail with oodles of fringe; cocktail attire with a little bit of attitude! I had a wonderful weekend in the Hamptons two weeks ago. The highlight was dinner at Baron's Cove in Sag Harbor with my family. The water view was calming, the food was fresh, locally sourced and delish; best of all- I felt as though I were a million miles away from the city!
The Kips Bay Decorator Show House is an inspiring amalgam of the best design talent internationally . It is such a enriching experience to see all of the work, displayed to perfection in the UES of Manhattan. Plus, proceeds go to a great children's cause. A few weeks ago, I attended a fabulous charity luncheon to help the fight against animal abuse. The #Phlippine Animal Guardian For Human Societies, Inc. hosted an informative talk on this heart wrenching subject. Credit to #Korina Sanchez-Roxas, and #The foundation for Filipino Artists for their excellent work protecting our four legged friends. The stark darkness of the subject was muted, by the brilliant beauty of the #Rotunda, at the storied Pierre Hotel in Manhattan.
