IT IS AN AMBIGUOUS TIME FOR WOMEN AND IT IS A DELICATE TIME. WE, AS WOMEN, HAVE TO BE AT OUR BEST AND STRONGEST; ALWAYS REACHING FOR THE BEST BALANCE OF PERSONAL FULFILLMENT AND PROFESSIONAL STANDING. IT IS NO EASY TASK.

SO WHEN I WAS INVITED TO THE 37TH ANNUAL MUSE AWARDS THAT CELEBRATES WOMEN’S ACCOMPLISHMENTS IN FILM, TELEVISION AND DIGITAL MEDIA, I KNEW I WOULD BE FACE TO FACE WITH THE MOST INSPIRING GROUP OF WOMEN. THERE WAS SO MUCH POSITIVE ENERGY IN THE ROOM AND SO MUCH TALENT!
This gala event took place in the Ballroom at the HILTON NEW YORK and was emceed by the powerhouse Nancy Giles, who is also a distinguished honoree, a Peabody awarded news contributor, an outspoken champion of women’s rights, a critic of news and culture, and a well-known actor.
Nancy Giles was also in the ensemble cast of ABC-TV’s Emmy Award-winning series “China Beach” and was the announcer and sometimes co-host of “Fox After Breakfast” and is perhaps best known for her work on CBS News Sunday Morning. On film: “Joshua,” the documentary “Before the Music Dies,” “True Crime,” “Working Girl,” and “Big.” (” Big” is one of my all-time favorite films!)
She is the voice on radio: “The Jay Thomas Morning Show” (New York City), and “Giles and Moriarty” with CBS News correspondent Erin Moriarty. “G&M” won back-to-back “Gracie” Awards (American Women in Radio and Television) for Best Talk Show. Most recently she has been vocal about Our President-Elect.
This event is a star-studded highlight of the New York City Holiday Season and is attended by an audience of 1,200 leading media executives This event lit up this tricky holiday season, for me, and for many, as I could clearly ascertain from the attendees’ approval.
Honorees include Actors Mary- Louise Parker, Debi Mazar ( swoon) Martha Plimpton, Marcia Smith (President of Firelight Media); and Jacki Kelley (CEO of Bloomberg Media).
There was so much talent to cover that I am doing so in a series. The first one will be next week and will feature both Mary- Louise Parker And Nancy Giles. So stay tuned! You will be both informed and entertained, I promise!
