Hello Loves! I enjoyed two Thanksgiving dinners this year! The first you saw earlier this week was in my sister-in-law’s red dining room. This second one, prepared by my sister, was very special too. The table was set beautifully, the fireplace was roaring and the Thanksgiving feast was out of this world! I sit by… Read More Thanksgiving 2.0- Thanksgiving Feast for 40
Hello loves and happy Tuesday ! Today I am featuring a tiered, silk skirt that I paired with a pleather and fleece sweatshirt, and my super comfy Geox trainers. This photo shoot was a few days ago and the temps were in the mid to high 70s. It was warm out! The fan was a… Read More Sneakers and a Silk Skirt for #Hotautumn
Hello! I like to wear this plaid coat as the weather is warm, and i find more reasons to be outside. My glen plaid coat, is a vintage and traditional glen plaid. I updated this look by adding fringed denim and a pop of red. A neutral plaid coat is always helped by a pop… Read More Mad Dash in A Plaid Coat
Yesterday I wore a bright sweater with “Gucci” vibes, and distressed denim. Today, after reading the headlines, I would not choose to wear color. I would want to wear black. I was at Bloomingdales supposing their efforts to fight breast cancer, and I bought two items where the proceeds went generously to that cause. I have included a shopping collage, for those of us who want the shopping distraction!
In dark times, it is helpful to embrace Fashion and Art; to train our eyes, collectively, on the light at the end of the tunnel. I wish you peace, joy, and the bit of light that comes with illumination.
Hello loves! Today, I am featuring the anatomy of a #NYFW outfit, that represents slow fashion, and the eclectic mix that is my signature style. Much of it is up-cycled. Also included are some fun shots of the attendees of the shows, and some colorful street style looks!
Wishing you a happy weekend!
Today I am featuring #wiw to last weeks DapperQ runway show in the Brooklyn Museum. I wore a sheer sleeved LBD bought from a local boutique . I also carried a second-hand designer bag, where the proceeds go to support battered women. Now more than ever, we should vote with our dollars and #shopsmall and #shoplocal. Thank you so much for reading!
I am an independent blogger as you know. This year I thought long and hard about which shows I wanted to attend and cover. ( Yes, belatedly still more to come) When I was invited to the dapperQ production featuring gender fluid style, with seven designers , I thought, YES!
This show was one of the most diverse runway shows ever, and on my blog, as in my life, I value inclusiveness.
I value that each of us feels comfortable in his or her skin, irrespective of sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, gender, and skin color. xoxo, Elle
We find ourselves a bit past the mid-point of #NYFW. I have enjoyed many runway shows, but was especially enthusiastic about the Runway Gala hosted by The Carol Galvin Foundation to benefit cancer. This post just is a preview of the shows to come, and a bit of a #WIW post as well. More to come!
Stay safe from the storms! Sending love from New York City!
Wondering how to wear white after Labor Day? Lets ditch the old rules and look at white as a cool neutral for autumn. Think cozy sweaters, soft capes, white shirtings over denim, in any color. Do not forget a winter-white coat in a good wool or cashmere, a true luxury piece that will always be in style. I added some shopping and styling ideas to this post. Remember , when possible, shop small and local!
