Greetings friends! Today I feature a LBD that I dressed down to make it more of a fashion statement and less of a formal outfit. I did this by adding fringe- lots of it!
The event I went to was a very special birthday party at a beautiful Long Island restaurant and called for FESTIVE ATTIRE. What to wear?
I always interpret this to mean that a woman can wear anything that is nice, and/or that she can go all-out and dress to the nines. As well, for men, it requires that they do not need a tuxedo. This is my interpretation.
So… I added fringe and lots of it! I donned an ultra-suede fringe duster jacket in a warm cognac. Then to add more layering contrast, I wore a cool grey fringed bag . Enough details, right?
WRONG! I ALSO ADDED A FEATHER AND RHINESTONE BROOCH TO THE BAG. FOR JEWELRY, I KEPT MY WRISTS AND NECK BARE BUT ADDED 3 COCKTAIL RINGS. ITS A PARTY, AND COCKTAILS WILL BE SERVED!
I wore comfortable, but high, platform stilettos so I could be tall(er). I thrifted this dress for under $20.00 USD at the Retreat Boutique in Bridgehampton NY, where the proceeds help fun a local shelter for battered woman. Below I sit. Hubby took these shots, so this is an informal and quick photoshoot!

So friends, how is your summer going? I know, I know: It is hot outside! Most of the events and small dinners we have, or attend, are informal; think backyard BBQ and at someone’s home. But this was a special night.
