Plaid pleated skirts give off a school girl vibe. Since I consider myself a perennial student, that is okay by me.
These shots were taken a few weeks ago, when the weather was warmer. Certainly the classic plaid is an easy and predictable look for me.
The whole vibe is a bit “school girl” but that is intended. I am a student of life, and one who appreciates learning and knowledge. This is an excellent time to be well-informed !
T strap MaryJanes are a 50 year love. I am consistent in my style. These are by Payless,- YES- no snobbery here – so comfortable with the rubber sole! My skirt looks like Burberry , but it is not. It has no label but is made of fine wool. Plaid, pleated skirts are such a good investment dressing staple! I bought it at Encore on Madison Avenue !

They grey sweater is an older, but classic, Ralph Lauren pullover in merino wool. It is many years old, and still in perfect condition. The plaid cap used to be my son’s! You have seen this thrifted bag before, as it is a Housing Works purchase. What a good charity this is. Win Win !
My pearl ring is Edwardian and was bought from a 1st dibs seller at Manhattan Art and Antiques. This tony antiques shop destination is dangerous to have nearby MAAC boasts 3 levels of world class objects and jewels, be forewarned! I had to shop and shop to find something I could afford .
Don’t we love to walk when the sun is shining ? I know I do!
I took this snap of a lovely chandelier in a nearby restaurant, while waiting for a friend.
Pretty plantings add so much to a nearby townhouse . The photo almost took itself! SNAP!
Plaid pleated skirts, are you a fan ?
Or do you prefer an solid or a print ? What is your favorite classic skirt? Let me know, you know how!

I love plaid pleated skirts but don’t own one yet. It’s on my shopping list. You look just darling, as usual!!
Do you know that I don’t have a pleated skirt anymore?? I asked my mom to make me one, but she said they are too complicated. So I’m keeping an eye out at the second hand stores!!
Payless used to be my favorite shoe store. Until I started getting even better deals at our DSW….

I have been wearing plaid skirts for what feels like my whole life – I used to have and wear a couple when I was in high school that were my mom’s from the 50s. I see a ton of vintage wool kilts and skirts in the thrift stores here (a very big English/Scottish population in my city), but they don’t quite appeal to me. I do like pleated skirts, but they’re tricky to get right (at least for me). Wow, that Edwardian ring is a stunner! I have browsed in a few antique shops that have old jewelry like… Read more »
