My year-end Instagram round-up shows signature styles that are diverse and anti-formulaic. You can see me wearing monotones and a circus riot of colors. Plaids, stripes, chaotic mixes of pattern are featured as well as some quieter looks at the opposite of the spectrum. One thing is certain: on my blog, the looks are fresh. I don’t expect you to love them all or resonate with each one of them. I do hope that I inspire you to be creative.
My most recent look is pretty quiet.
For Christmas Eve day, I wore a vintage emerald-green dress and my new matching necklace from hubby.
Perhaps it is not so especially quiet as it is worn with tinsel trimmed pumps which adds shine. The necklace of emerald beads, each hand faceted to catch the light also adds some shimmer. Further, the texture of the dress adds some visual interest to a simple sheath silhouette.
Forgive my posture! I was looking down at hubby ! He’s cute you know!
Reaching back in time here are my favorite and-or most liked looks from 2018.
Skinny jeans and a vintage plaid sweater are brought to life with plum suede boots.
My love of tulle is undeniable. Here I wear this feminine and frilly look with sneakers.
Velvet and fringe add texture and interest, and the look is rounded oft with a square box bag.
The pun is intended !
Festive feels below with a girl’s sequin dress from Diesel.
Sophisticated details keep this look from being too juvenile.
This year-end Instagram round-up is certainly chock full of surprising elements!
An “Elle” mix below, with a Ralph Lauren sheer blouse, Prada skirt and two belts circling my waist.
If one is good then two is better! Correct?
Tao downtown was a gracious host for a Mandy Moore Magazine cover party and the food was delicious !
Vintage Ralph Lauren looks fresh with a belt wore as a necklace and a wide corset belt.
Each piece below is second-hand except for the Hermés twilly in my hair.
Sweet sundresses can be worn with punchy patterned boots and wide belt.
Belt by Dolce & Gabbana, booties via Le Prix.com are Dries Van Noten!
Both items were from consignment stores. Can you say SCORE !
My trusty leopard bag from a yard sale does double duty below.
The taxi stopped in case you are wondering!
Dressed with pockets are my fav!
Rose pink tulle is voluminous and toned down by rugged vintage Western boots.
My cool cap has buttons hand sewn by a local artisan and was bought at a local mom and pop store.
My feedbag type bag is Hermes! If you look for the H you can see it, but it is not in your face!
Appliquéd rosettes add texture and the dangling earring are a statement piece!
The guided vase is a treasured gift from a dear friend!
All of the looks were well received and were fun to wear from the summer collage below.
Below I am wearing LuckyBrand, both the lace dress and forever straw bag.
I appreciate the quality of this chain of stores and their good values, but not too-fast styling ! I did receive some compensation for this post.
Below, another pair of statement earrings, also bought locally and made in the USA.
An “at home” look in a Pink gingham shirt and a cool Floral tie from Ruth Eads!
This is my East Hampton house and it has loads of welcoming sun!
Ending with a shot of a cool thrifted maxi!
Don’t forget great accessories !
REMEMBER THAT GREAT ACCESSORIES DO NOT HAVE TO BE EXPENSIVE! ALMOST EVERY PIECE WAS BOUGHT EITHER ON EBAY OR SECOND HAND!
What do you think of my year-end Instagram round-up?
Did you do a year-end Instagram round-up? If so, was it easy to select your favorites ? Did you own favorites match up to the posts that had the most likes?

Oh, I just love your aesthetic, Elle! It’s playful, fun, colourful and you have such a wonderful eye for detail. It makes me happy! And that you are such an avid second-hand shopper is the cherry on top. You look amazing in all of these outfits, as you always do. Wishing you a year of joy and wonder ahead!
Thanks, that means a lot to me Sheila!
You know I also adore you taste as well! If we lived closer to one another, we would have such fun trading clothes I ithnk !

You have a wonderful eclectic style and the “gear” to create all these wonderful outfits. I loved seeing them. Haven’t done a post like this myself, but it would have been smart. That way I didn’t need another photoshoot. Oh well, next year there is another opportunity.
Your green Christmas dress is beautiful and the necklace your husband gave you,… wow, what a stunning piece. He is indeed cute haha.
Greetje
Its not too late to do a post like this. I would love to see a yearly review !
I chose the necklace myself, as i know my jewelry, and it is not as expensive as you might think, I bought it wholesale, but hubby is generous and kind.
And I did not buy any new clothes for the holiday or even in the last two months !
Yes, I do have some good gear, as you do my friend !
xo, Elle
You are such a inspiration to me! You teach me not to dress all too matchy matchy, but to style different styled together and to wear what feels good. Your outfits are such a pleasure for the eye, so much to discover, so much to look at!
Thank you sincerely Nancy for those kind words. You are a fabulous stylist too and a very good model too!
