Classic Christmas outfits are my favorite. When it comes to a busy holiday season I always feel that is best to make it simple! Certainly there is nothing easier than to wear an outfit that you have worn before, and that you know will be comfortable!
My favorites classic Christmas outfits always include the color green.
Green is a color that represents spring, growth and of course Christmas. Nicole Miller did an exemplary job of making the perfect timeless sheath. All over ruching added texture, so the simple pine green was all I needed.
My metallic tinsel shoes are an older LVIS find and always heralds holiday joy! That they were under ten dollars helps! The dress was under $10.00 also !
Can we say Holiday Bargain!
My statement rings are both older. One is from KCSignatures, and the other from a trip to Mexico. Certainly, Elle likes her baubles! Remember my furry chair ? it is still a favorite and especially cozy in the winter with the fireplace lit and glowing !
This happy lady got a new emerald necklace for Christmas from hubby. That means of course that I shopped for it, since I am a good shopper and that he bought it for me and wrapped it up!
Below a photo of it with the floral vintage bag, a gift from a friend. I wore this bag with this outfit and the color combination was just right.
I like the checkerboard bench as a backdrop. It sits on the second floor mezzanine in my East Hampton house, and I am happy my daughter wants it one day for her house! The red and cream background is cheerful and folkloric.
A snap of my bundled up look as we headed out of Manhattan.
You remember this celery hued faux fur!
The house was uncharacteristically quiet. My entire family was in Anquilla soaking up the sun and each other’s company ! I was a bit sad that I could not join them, but mostly I was happy for them and their opportunity to be all together in such a special place. Facetime provided a great glimpse into the fun that they had! Therefore I felt in the loop and was grateful !
The Hampton’s was quiet and festive that week. The houses were lit up beautifully and the weather was lovely. I even woke up to snow at 5:00 AM! However, when I woke later for the day , it was gone. Still, the sight of the light dusting on the trees and tennis court was a splendid one that I won’t forget.
Hubby and I spent the afternoon at Barron’s Cove, a favorite Inn in Sag harbor. We sat next to a roaring fireplace and enjoyed sliders, prosecco and later, fresh-baked cookies!. The setting is special there, facing the wharf and the clear turquoise water.
I am all truly grateful for this blissful retreat. Photo one on the left is a close up of the dress and pretty gold earrings.
It is surprisingly green in the Hampton’s this year!
The second photo on the right is an Opening Ceremony dress in black that I wore to meet Allie. Therefore, we see me smiling twice !
Do you like to wear classic Christmas outfits?
Do you have a favorite dress or accessory that you tend to wear often ?
What make your holidays special ?
I bet it is time with family! Let me know, you know how!

I loved that dress the first time you showed it, and to hear it was only $10?? Even better! Great score on the shoes, too, Elle! I just gasped over that fabulous necklace – such good taste Mr. Elle has! ;-P I do love to have a really luxe piece of jewelry against a really big bargain of a garment. Love that celery faux fur – such a pretty colour.
Wonderful memories of your special time – thank you for sharing them!
Thank you sincerely Sheila !
I got the necklace wholesale, so it is not as big of a splurge as you might think!!

So much gorgeousness in one post, Elle! And so much green, which as you know is my favourite colour! That shimmering dress is amazing, and less than $ 10, that’s just incredible. Love the green tinsel shoes too. And wow, you were certainly spoiled. The emerald necklace is gorgeous (you’ve got such a good eye!) and that floral vintage bag is simply divine. xxx
Thanks so much Ann! The necklace is not as expensive as you might think, as I got it wholesale. Yes, the dress is well made and was quite the bargain, and has been a good dinner dress for many years now!
Much love, Elle
You look radiant in this emerald dress and the shoes are a dream. What a great style and accessory and bargain outfit. I usually wear bold colours but for New Year’s I usually wear something gold or sequins. 🙂 http://fashiontalesblog.com
Gold and sequins are perfect for the New Year!

Wow! What a deal on those pieces! Under $10 is serious. You do seem to have a nose for smelling out the best deals. The necklace is stunning. The holidays were easier this year as we did something totally out of the norm, we picked up our entire Christmas meal on Christmas Eve from Wholefoods. A vegan meal for two. It’s the first time I’ve ever done something like that but I’m sure it won’t be the last. We were very impressed. Normally I’m preparing for two days for our Christmas meal. We rarely eat out or buy takeaway but… Read more »
Yes, a good trend and a nice way to treat yourself. Kudos for being vegan! You really walk at the walk, and do so with style!

Oh yes, the dress! It actually found me. When I go into the thrift store in East Hampton they always bring out tiny little dresses. This one looks like it would fit an 8 year old, but has plenty of stretch. Deceiving on the hanger.
Happy 2019 !

Oh gosh this necklace is goooooood. I adore it. And it is such a perfect match with the dress.
Out of curiosity… were the cute bargain shoes comfortable to walk on?
Greetje
Thanks Grretje,
I got the necklace wholesale! The shoes are comfortable given that the heel height is tall ! But there is a platform, ( thanks designer, and the shoes have a skid proof sole, who is mandatory for me, as i have osteoporosis! So they are dinner shoes only, and will never see a city sidewalk ! But i can wear them in the Hamptons!)
You see everything ! I appreciate you!

You look really beautiful and stylish.

Thanks so much! I appreciate that!

Such an elegant lady! The green colour is massive on Christmas though I wore more red during the holidays. How can you find beautiful vintage items for a lot less, I should learn it from you more and more.

That is so kind of you !
Red is the perfect holiday color, so right!!
