Clad In a faux fur-trimmed dress, I was cozy and warm.
Have you ever worn something as warm as a cashmere blanket and just did not want to take it off?
That is how I felt in this snuggly, but stylish number.
It takes just a bit of texture to make a faux fur-trimmed dress stand out.
Matchy- Matchy was the theme for the day. Headlines loom large and frightening, so I maintain order – or the illusion of order – with meditation, exercise, and color matching, At least that is one thing I can control!
The patent T straps match the dress, which matches the bracelet, which matches the bag, that the girl wore on a sunny day. Is there a nursery rhyme in there?. Oh I hope so; something lyrical and calming would be great right now.
Above, I do not look like myself. Instead, I look just like my twin! Certainly, you can imagine how surprised I was to see this! However, my twin wouldn’t wear this faux fur-trimmed dress or any sweater dress for that matter. She is more of a skinny jeans and Versace shirt kind of gal!
Below, I look more like me. Taking a seat by the window, I feel the hint of sun on my back, even though the temps are still cold.
Bucket bags have been trending for a while now, but I bought this croc babe from Designer Revival 7 years ago. High quality bags always catch my eye. Handbags that are made to last are something that I value.
Marooned In Maroon? Why not swallow and savor a color for the day?
Furry shoulders add some punch to my dress as well and some on point flourish. I bought his dress locally two years ago. It’s somewhat of a statement dress I suppose, but I this will like it for years to come.
Outside, though it was chilly, there was some pretty winter landscaping.
NYFW was my destination in this dress and I will provide more coverage of that soon. This year the runway looks were exceptional!
Late afternoon I ended up at a midtown hotel for a lovely lunch. I think I will do a photo shoot there soon.
I did have to leave abruptly, as my FIL is acutely ill. This weighs :(( on my mind, as my hubby has since flown down to see him. However, before I learned of this news, I got some photos of the decorous lobby furnishings!
As soon as I heard of the news, I went into emergency management mode. I downed my prosecco, had my lobster role boxed up, and went running into the street to catch a cab home. Gratefully, I was able to wake hubby and get him on a plane in short order. I await the news now.
Switching to a happier train of thought is my new ring that hubby got me from Valentines day. I bought it on Etsy. The pink stone is a Kunzite which was first discovered in Connecticut,, and was named after George Frederick Kunz. George was an American mineralogist and the former vice president and buyer for Tiffany & Company. Kunz was a legendary New York jeweler and colored stone specialist.
Being well versed on gemology I was able to “favorite” this ring for hubby to buy. If I bought in it my neighborhood , and if it came from a nearby designer, it would be completely unaffordable. I would have to add a zero to the price tag and then multiply by 2 or 3! I am pretty sure my daughter will love this!
To be sure, at my age, anything of consequence that I buy, I do purchase with the subtext of passing it down eventually. Does that sound morbid or practical? With my father in law so ill, and my parents and brother gone, I do consider my mortality.
However, enough of this gloomy subject! The ring is beautiful, and adds some light to a winter day. Yes, I am certain my daughter will LOVE it!
Guess what my ring size is by the way? HINT: it is 3 &1/2 ! Shoe size? Two and a half in the children’s department. I am an itty bitty thing! Hopefully that is not TMI.
Now to do another high-low rift, I shall inform you that the bracelet was bought at a dollar store about a decade ago!
Here I add link to fabulous dress that is on sale. Tell me this isn’t gorgeous! But this does have real fur. Mine is faux.
I bought this dress locally and will close with a reminder to shop small.
Faux fur-trimmed dress, with chain, stud and ribbon detail.
Would you wear it?
I bid you goodbye for now, as I await news from my husband.
Thank you for bearing with me as this post went a bit off topic!
—— XOXO, Elle ——
Oh, I would wear that dress in a heartbeat – I love the detail on it and those fun, fuzzy shoulders. You look wonderful, Elle! I also have thin fingers – most rings are big on my thumbs.
Sending good vibes for your FIL, hon. It’s not morbid to think of the future – it’s a good reminder to savour and cherish every moment we have. Hugs to you.
Always beautifully said my friend.
It is import to cherish the moments we are blessed with. Gratitude always wins my heart!

What an amazing dress, Elle. I love both the colour and those quirky furry shoulders. Love the textured bag as well, it looks almost as if it’s quilted. And I too have small hands and fingers like you! But you do have the tiniest feet! Sending prayers for your Father in Law … xxx

Matchy matchy yes! And in such a good way. This color looks great on you. Oh my it was quite cold today but sunny so I guess we can’t complain. I am not an expert in gemology at all. Not even close haha

It did feel good to match. Order in any form is good right now, lol.
I love my gems.. like a magpie, I guess!

Everything is stunning about this outfit. You styled it so well, with bracelet, bag and straps matching. I love this outfit. And I am totally in love with the ring. What a beauty. I would wear it without a second ring to distract from its beauty, but that is me.
I hope your FIL will be better soon. Worrying days. Hang in there.

Thanks! YOU never miss a thing!
I wore that ring last week with the other rings because it was not sized and was too big.
Now that it is sized, I do wear it alone. I agree ! lol.
Thanks for mentioning my FIL… I am okay.. trying to support hubby and his brothers as much as possible .

Yeah I really like fur and these kind of stuff so I would really enjoy wearing the dress. What a nice outfit, regardless 🙂
