I spoke to her last week. I did. But I didn’t. I texted her last week, and there is a notable difference in how we communicated. How we communicate is changing SO fast! It’s like we have a new language or new speak of some sort….
This photo brings home a visual point in showing just how much they way technology affects how we communicate with loved ones, as well as business associates. Do you remember this relic? I do! We now use cell phones alongside FaceTime, Twitter, and Snapchat to name but a scant few. Sometimes we lose patience for the written word and it is Instagram we turn to. A photo is worth a thousand words, right? Well, maybe…
But please remember that nothing replaces one on one time, face to face time. The conversations we have at home, over Thanksgiving, in an eatery, or a park, with no distractions and where we can also read the emotional nuances on the face of a friend, are priceless. Make time for this sort of communication. Do not walk away from it.
This is a good thing to remember , especially as we enter the holiday season! Pick up that phone. Better yet, meet your loved one for dinner! ‘Tis the season!
