Whenever the sun comes out, I try to slip away. In Manhattan, the sun is eclipsed by so many tall buildings near me one can hardly see it shine. So the Hubby and I high-tailed it to East Hampton. A shot of me wearing a slip skirt and cream leather and suede.
This was shot in the mid-afternoon when the sun is at it strongest; the worst time for photos. But real life figures in too, you know? We went the wharf in Sag Harbor, did some antiquing for my daughter’s new place, and went to dinner at Paige, a favorite of ours.
Detail of vintage slip that I am wearing as a skirt ( the fabric is very thick and stiff, like a taffeta). I found it as a vintage boutique, and it was on a mannequin paired with a denim jacket and beaded cami. I was cool wearing this underpinning as a skirt, as it was displayed.
The beauty of Long Island never ceases to delight me.
We were only away for two days, but we felt renewed by being away and outdoors! Even if I did need a jacket!
OUTFIT DETAILS: vintage skirt-slip, via Around Again in Sag Harbor. Similar here. My kitten heels are vintage Manolo Blahnik, unfortunately, I tied the tassels behind my ankles. My suede blouse is eggshell suede, from Workshop, as is the leather jacket, in a slightly deeper shade.
