For Throw Back Thursday I wanted to share three December shots from different years. It has been so warm here and so rainy, I thought this would be a good way to add some winter style. Below I am wearing a mohair furry coat from Proenza Schouler bought second hand in Sag Harbor, NY.
I AM ALSO WEARING A PLAID CHENILLE SCARF THAT BELONGED TO MY LATE FATHER. SINCE THIS IS A “LOOKING BACK” POST I DON’T MINDING A BIT OF SENTIMENTALITY.
I MISS HIM SO…
BELOW I AM WEARING A GLAM LOOK AT THE HOLIDAY HOUSE NY. I HOPE TO GET THERE THIS SEASON. EVERYTHING HERE FEELS SO TOPSY TURVY, AS I LIVE CLOSE TO TRUMP TOWERS, NOW CALLED WHITE HOUSE NORTH.
THIE ROOM WAS DECORATED BY MARKS & FRANTZ, THE SAME DUO THAT DID THE SET DESIGN FOR THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA. AND SEX IN THE CITY. THEY ARE SO TALENTED AND LOVELY. MY JEWELRY IS FROM KCSIGNATURES.COM
A BIT OF COLOR IS GOOD FOR A WARM WINTER. I WORE THIS COAT LAST WEEKEND WITH DENIM AND OVER THE KNEE BOOTS, AND A FLORAL BAG. I DID NOT GET A PHOTO FROM LAST WEEKEND, SO I HOPE YOU LIKE THIS SHOT FROM 3 YEARS AGO.
THIS NEXT SHOT IS OLD, AND THE RESOLUTION IS POOR. I HAVE COME ALONG WAY WITH PHOTO QUALITY. BUT I STILL LIKE THE SHOT. I WAS VERY HAPPY THAT YEAR AS MY ADULT CHILDREN LIVED AT HOME FOR A FEW MONTHS.
I WANTED TO ADD A CASUAL LOOK AND THE FIRST ONE IS, SORT OF, BUT IN DECEMBER I TEND TO DRESS UP FOR THE HOLIDAY SEASON, EVEN IF I AM NOT GOING ANYWHERE SPECIAL. IT FEELS FESTIVE TO DO THIS, AS DOES A SINGLE FLUTE OF CHAMPAGNE A DAY, UNLESS MY FRIEND SASHA IS POURING. 😉 ACTUALLY, LATELY, I HAVE BEEN LOVING PROSECCO.
IT DOES NOT FEEL LIKE DECEMBER. THE TIME IS GOING SO FAST. PLUS, I FEEL DISTRACTED WITH ALL OF THE CHANGES IN THE POLITICAL ARENA; IT IS HARD NOT TO – IN THE EYE OF THE STORM. POLICE AND SECURITY ARE EVERYWHERE. THE FUTURE FEELS UNCERTAIN, AND AS AND LOVELY AS A 60 DEGREE NIGHT IS THIS TIME OF YEAR , IT DOES NOT BODE WELL FOR THE PLANET.
BUT ALAS, I AM A LUCKY PERSON TO HAVE A WONDERFUL FAMILY AND SUCH GREAT FRIENDS. EVEN WITH HEALTH ISSUES, I NEVER TAKE THIS GOOD FORTUNE FOR GRANTED. MY ADULT CHILDREN ARE FARING WELL, AND I AM HAPPILY MARRIED. THESE ARE THE SORTS OF THINGS THAT GIVE ME SO MUCH COMFORT AND COLOR MY DAYS. EVEN BLEAK, RAIN-SOAKED ONES LIKE THESE, WITH A HAPPY HUE.
