Hello Loves and Happy Friyay! I am sharing some shots of one of the outfits I wore for this busy week and some cool shots of some colorful street style. I hope you enjoy.
Below, I am wearing an origami type skirt, at least that is how I visualize it. It is brocade and an object of wonderment to my eye. I added a leather jacket, a cashmere turtleneck & some funkadelic platform booties- to lend some edge and drama.
YOU MAY NOTICE MY FACIAL EXPRESSIONS ARE TENSE. THE CITY IS CROWDED- TRUMP IS HERE, AND JUST AROUND THE CORNER. POLICE ARE EVERYWHERE. I WS LUCKY TO FIND A QUIET SPOT!
My outfit is an upcycled mix of luxe and edgy. The skirt, custom made for someone unbeknownst to me, was a fab find at Encore, on Madison Avenue, one of my very favorite places to shop. I can not imagine what a comparative retail price would be, but I paid $45.00 for this number.
I know, Shopping karma!
My very high and very funky boots are two years old from Zulily.com.- which is my favorite online flash sale site along with Gilt.com. I love the extra 6 inches of height! My metallic fishnets were bought from a local boutique.
Pictures can be deceiving. I look so isolated in this spot, but in reality, this neighborhood was bustling with people, activity, secret service, and all types of foot and car traffic.
My crocodile bag deserves its own post, one day soon, but my jacket is from Bloomingdales in the children’s department. It has a moto vibe, but no so much hardware that if feels goth. It works well with my otherwise lady-like look.
Voilá! This sums up the anatomy of a #NYFW outfit. There is absolutely no way, anyone in the world is wearing the same. I value unique style, authenticity, slow fashion, upcycling, and the creative mix. I hope I have succeeded here. With patience and a good eye, anyone can.
Now below, are some shots taken from the week NYFW was roaring. They are a bit random, but will give you a flavor of the street vibes that come with this fabulous style week! The shots include attendees of the shows mostly. Below from one of the Nolce shows.
