Finally I post about my Atlantis Cove Beach Vacation! What a perfect destination for perfect weather, pristine beaches and attentive service. My family and I enjoyed this special island getaway. Coveted beach views were visible from generous balconies and the rooms were furnished with every possible amenity.
An Atlantis Cove Beach vacation – Pure Magic!
WE LEFT MANHATTAN IN THE MIDST OF COLD WEATHER AND DREARY SKIES. JUST THREE HOURS LATER, WE ARRIVED AT OUR LOVELY HOTEL AND I TOOK THE SHOT OF THE ABOVE SUNSET FROM MY BALCONY. NO FILTERS NEEDED! THE NEXT DAY I WAS ON THE BEACH, TOES HAPPY IN THE SAND.
I packed in a hurry for this special trip that I previewed here. Most of my clothes were hours away, so I bought some beach attire from local stores and in the Straw Market, a cool spot in the downtown area where local artisans sell their handmade dresses, woven beach hats, and hand blocked shawls. You know how I love to shop small and local.
I did not consciously think of spring trends when I chose my clothes and accessories, but I did wear some trendy, but timeless pieces. For example my fringed skirt is a trending item, although mine is almost 5 years old. Floppy hats are trending too, but I bought mine for skin protection.
On point too, is my hand crafted dress featuring bold tropical prints and pom-pom trim. Tropical prints made a big splash on the runway this season, as did florals. Mine was bought purely because the colors are bright and happy, and this dress is easy to wear. Easy, peasy attire for my Atlantis Cove beach vacation. In the lobby, hubby got this shot before dinner.
Inside the hotel, my dress coordinated perfectly with the soft cushions of the suite. Happy coincidence !
Another look of this outfit from indoors. Thanks Hubby! You saw this shot recently on Instagram, where I commented about my golden tan, or lack thereof.
A mother of pearl table in front of me was perfect place for a close up of my statement earrings, yet another spring trend, but for me, a classic and enduring look.
Sunshine added arresting shadows to the crochet top that I wore on the second day of my family beach vacation. Bathing suits on the beach make me feel too exposed and, as I do not swim in the rough oceans, and I just prefer beach attire. Further, more clothing I wear , the more my at-risk pale skin is protected. Crocheted florals and bold color make up my simple beach outfit below.
Fine mother of pearl sand and sunny vistas is not all that this Atlantis Cove beach vacation had to offer. The hotel was designed for one to feel that she is in the a rain forest, with birds, streams and fish all built seamlessly into the walkways. The video I showed on Instagram was from the lobby grounds ! Is this an egret that I show below? It is graceful whatever it is, and certainly was camera ready!
Certainly I felt like I was in Paradise for this week of family vacation. . The weather was in the low eighties all week with nary a cloud in the sky. Energetic sunshine worked its incandescent magic on the lily pads and pond below.
THIS WAS A SPECIAL FAMILY VACATION. MY SON AND HIS FIANCÉ JOINED MY HUSBAND AND ME. SO MUCH ROMANCE IN THE AIR. COULD A MOM BE HAPPIER? I THINK NOT.
BUT THAT DOES NOT MEAN THIS TRIP WAS EASY. YOU KNOW ME, AND THAT I DO NOT TRAVEL WELL. TWO FUTURE POSTS WILL EXPLORE WHY THIS BEACH VACATION WAS WONDERFUL, BUT NOT PARTICULARLY SMOOTH SAILING.
Nonetheless, I hope that you are well, dear readers.
It does look like paradise, Elle. But I’m sorry it wasn’t such smooth sailing….
You certainly look like you were enjoying as much as you could!!
XOXO

It truly was paradise in it was mostly a wonderful trip.

Ahh, what a lovely respite from every-other-day snow and n’or easters here in NY! We’re supposed to have snow again tomorrow night! I hope the “not smooth sailing-ness” was to a minimum and you did get to enjoy the time away with your family.

Bettye,
It was a lovely respite. Natural beauty was lovely and much appreciated. My post comes out about a difficult flight home. More snow to come I hear! Eek…❤️Elle
Sorry to hear of your difficult flight home. Traveling challenges are so rough because you’re in sort of a limbo and all you want to do is get home or to your desired destination.
I know I’m probably in the minority with continuing to welcome the snow, even now in March!
So sorry you had a tough trip home. Travel challenges are so annoying, when all you want to do is get home!
I know I’m in the minority in still being happy at the prospect of snow!
Thanks, yes I do appreciate that you understand. I’m so delighted to be home. I actually do like the snow – just not mountains of it. And I don’t like extremely cold windy weather either . ❤️
And it’s so windy this afternoon!!! Even though it’s sunny I’m happy to be inside this afternoon. I’ll be in the city tomorrow, hope it’s not this windy!
Yes, I hate strong winds…but a delightful breeze; yes to that ! ❤️
it indeed looks like Paradise and you look wonderful too! Sorry you had some snags, but I hope all the beauty made up for it, xox

That crochet top is fantastic! And I love Pearle jewelry! Enjoy!
My family and I love the Atlantis Cove..glad you were able to escape the snow for awhile! I have to adopt your packing method as I always start out with good intentions of packing lightly and then get frustrated and end up throwing it all in the suitcase! Love the straw market there and picked up a great beach hat I take every time we head to a sunny location!
I am so glad that you two have discovered this paradise. I had no choice as my summer clothes were in the Hamptons house and we are in the midst of renovating. But I did have fun selecting a few local items and I really didn’t need that much. I hope to see you soon now that the weather is slowly getting better!

Hi Elle,
First off, you look lovely as always! I love your hair pulled back and the long tropical skirt with halter, and your floral dress is the perfect beach attire as well! I am glad you got to enjoy it with your family. I am sorry to hear you had a hard time traveling and understand how that is! All of the running around exhausts me as much as I enjoy visiting places. Love the straw hat too, timeless!
Please take care!
Have a great week!

The thing I love about ignoring trends is how trendy we look when they come around again! You look amazing as always, Elle. Hope your vacation has been invigorating and restful.
I don’t ignore them exactly. But I don’t go out to buy something specifically for that trend. Usually I have something , and sometimes it just falls into my lap when I am thrifting. It is amazing to see the same things come and go – come and go- though.
Something that we only be truly appreciate when we get to be about our age. My vacation was restful but I must say I am very glad to be home !

This all looks so good: the island and you. I love your sunny outfits and the beautiful photos of the beach. Today spring has officially arrived, but it looks like winter here, so I was more than happy to have a bit of virtual sunshine! Love, Lieske
Wow, this place looks truly magical! I love your outfit too!
