Ladylike style is classic and my favorite look, truth be told. Fashion-wise, I am all over the map and my eclectic style is a fun way to express myself and be creative. My truest self, though, is feminine and buttoned up a bit.
Recognize this coat? I have been getting a lot of wear from it! You saw it here, worn in my co-op lobby, and on my Instagram, too. I styled it today with a silk floral dress, a caned and wood clutch, and a statement ring. The flowers were out, so I followed suit. Yes to florals for spring! Not groundbreaking I know!
A closer look below reveals my ladylike style.
Breaking this outfit down, I am wearing:
- Pink brocade coat from Giles Italy.
- Escada silk floral dress, brought on Long Island, at consignment.
- Caned wood clutch with hand cast branch handle from Novica.com.
- Statement ring in sapphire blue from KCSignatures.
- Crystal pavé snake bracelet.
- Ruby and diamond bracelet
I step daintily in my CHANEL sandals in blush pink, the color of the season. Delicate sandals seemed right for this ladylike style. See them better below in a shot from my closet. One of them, anyway! I bought these years ago at STA. They were inexpensive because the size is so small, size 35. They looked like they were never worn. You know my penchant for upcylcing and secondhand couture.
In my lobby, the colors look different. I like the faux cherry blossom branches behind me. They were on point for this thematic style.
Rare pieces are not always expensive, and they go a long way to add distinctive style. This ring was part of an earring set and now one is a brooch, and the other is my ring pictured below. This is one of a kind. My bag from Novica.com is unique and handmade by artisans. Again, very few were made. The quality is excellent, the unique handle resembling a branch, is pristine despite a good deal of use. A small crafts market near me is where I found this snake pavé bracelet.
Look again! The details are what draws the eye! Made sure you add special elements to every outfit you wear! You can see my rosey pink sunnies below. Colored sunglasses are fun to wear and add a bit of drama.
Often I will add an edge to a ladylike outfit such as this. Bold booties with studs or sneakers even, would be worn to keep this look from being too precious. However, after a long and cold Winter, I felt that this spring day was precious and honored that with my sweet ladylike style.
So tell me, what is your favorite style this season? Are you springing out in florals and pinks hues?
LET ME KNOW; YOU KNOW HOW! I HOPE YOU ARE ENJOY THIS SPRING WEEK! XOXO, ELLE
