Share your closet ! This is hardly a new notion, but very few people do this in my experience. We know there is an app for this, but I prefer doing this is real life! Sharing clothes is a good way to reduce buying new and is fun, while also being sustainable.
Today I show an example of a share your closet outfit. Wearing my friend’s skirt and CHANEL bracelet is easy, as we are pretty much the same size. I also am borrowing her view as well!
Manhattan city views can be breathtaking !
Beaded silk blouses always appeal to me. The handwork and rich fabrication is prettier the closer you examine it.
Purchased new, this beaded halter blouse had no label, which I prefer as they itch my back ! It did have a fabric label with care instructions.
As well, it had a sealed plastic envelope containing replacement beads and sequins , but I haven’t lost even one!
Certainly, I have seen many of these in fine shops over the years, with prices that are exorbitant. Therefore, when I found this on eBay 11 years ago, I was thrilled with the $6.00 price.
The waist is pretty small, so that may help explain the low price, but hey it fits!
Peach tulle is heavenly to wear. How many times have you seen me wear tulle over the years? Countless times, I would imagine.
About as often as Sarah Jessica Parker on SITC! However, she rocked this cool fabric in a way I could never, and at 60, I am completely content with that.
Head to toe the full outfit below.
Share your closet – look one.
Manhattan skyline views are dazzling, but this day was a bit cloudy. We all know that I like to play with editing tools, so I added some color with Enlight.
Credible photo? Perhaps not, but indulge a girl (yes a 60-year-old girl) who likes to color.
Voilá, let there be onyx and blue skies!
As a person who keeps sustainability in mind when shopping, I share below my unusual vintage earrings that were bought locally.
Asos, a brand I do not shop, unless it is resale, made this scarf that I bought second-hand in East Hampton. The necklace was purchased at Housing Works , where the proceeds help the homeless and those afflicted with Aids.
Did someone just say Elle loves bling! Guilty as charged! 🙂
Welcome to Spring! Even though it is quite chilly out, Hubby sent me flowers !
Therefore, is it any wonder I am smiling ?
Below we see details of the share your closet featured outfit.
Here, the beaded halter blouse is not covered and you can see more details.
While walking that day, I appreciated the sky that boasted a beautiful sunset, almost iridescent with pink tones.
Is it a sign that spring weather will be at last here?
One can hope!
So dear readers, are you seeing some springtime buds poised to bloom?
Do you also share your closet with friends or family?
—– XOXO, Elle ——
What glamorous pieces you put together. That halter top is red carpet worthy.
I too hope spring will show up soon.

What a beautiful beaded tank! It’s a nice texture mix with the tulle skirt too! 🙂 I used to share my wardrobe with my sister when we both lived with our parents, haha! We don’t do it much now, but every now and then when there is an event coming up it makes sense to hunt through each other’s wardrobes!
Hope you have a great weekend ahead of you 🙂

With so much going on in my life and especially the puppy, I have little time to comment. I was planning only to look at your post. But this top took my breath away. What a stunning piece and it so brings out your beauty. That skirt is a perfect match.

I do not share my closet with friends or family, since I am in a league of my own size-wise…Many of my friends do and I think that’s a wonderful way of “shopping” sustainable. Love, Lieske

I love this look! It totally has ballerina vibes, and suits you so well💛I wish I would share my closet with my friends too, but we’re all different sizes so it’s a bit difficult!

This is just a treasure of an outfit – so incredibly beautiful! That top, that wonderful swooshy skirt, and of course, that Elle Bling! I loan party dresses and often offer to style my friends up for events, but I don’t loan out my regular clothes. I just don’t feel comfortable doing that (it makes me anxious), and honestly, if I’m visualizing one of my pieces on a friend, I’ll just give it to her instead.
Catching up on the posts I’ve missed! Hoping you’re having a good week, my dear.
I totally get that. I do both, I loan and I often give away! If i buy something that I am unsure about, i have multiple people that I know will wear it and enjoy it~
No worries about commenting.
