Is it me, or does time seem to speed up when the calendar finds its way to July? With clear skies and perfect weather, there is so much to do. I am embarrassed to say it, but I did wear red, white and blue for the Independence Day Holiday. ( and black!)
Despite the current political circus, It seems a good time to be patriotic.
Hubby and I were here and there for the extended holiday. We found a perfect balance between city and country. We rested and enjoyed, spending time with family .
Warm outside in the sun, warm inside at night by the fire. Perfection!
No fireworks this year. My dog gets so nervous with the loud bangs that I feel best staying home when the sky gets dark enough for the glorious displays to start. I do love fireworks though, as trite as they may sound and as bad for the air quality as they may be. I still find a child-like captivation when I do see them.
Another glimpse at the outfit, in the garden; it is festive for this holiday and fun to wear. The skirt and blouse are from the Target + Peter Pilotto collab from 2014. I usually wear just the skirt with a simple tee and espadrilles. I love wearing that simple outfit, but when i added the J. Crew stripe tee around my waist, and over the shirt as it got cooler, I liked the look much more.
There is not a Target store near me. I miss shopping there. I do feel that some of the designer collaborations do not always work, but this collection was fun. There is a cute dress from this collection on Poshmark now if you want to look.
My little red Bag is Moschino and it a great summer bag when you are on the go. My shoes were another Zulily.com find, made by Athena. The denim and leather whip-stitch detail is unusual and they are comfortable- considering how high the heel is! They are sold out but these fringed denim lace-ups are adorable. I wish they had my size!
