Hello loves. I am hoping that the end of the week is finding you well and ready for Friyay! It has been warm here in New York, but finally the cold is due here tomorrow . I get shivers just thinking about it.
Today I feature an olive-green vest and a visual how-to for mastering layers for Autumn and beyond.
You can see my classic turtleneck sweater, spiced up a bit with a row of rhinestones, but the simple look is an olive-green vest, by Rag and Bone, over this navy sweater, and a red bag for a pop of color. The Gucci looking white pumps are from Portugal by Hush Puppies.
Mastering layers for Autumn serves both function and aesthetics. Layers help you adjust to changing temps, indoor and out, and this has been such a changeable Autumn so far!
I know it is hard to believe that the cold weather will arrive. Just a few days ago I was walking and seeing tress in bud, and flowers in bloom. I even went to a penthouse to view the city, and what a sight it was. The warm light and city vistas were a pleasure to see.
I did need my pink Le Fleur sunglasses that day! The light was warm and cast a romantic and warm glow on the city , and I shall miss it terribly as the days shorten into winter!
I like the pop of color that my red Mark Cross bag added to my outfit. Part of mastering layers is knowing when to add color and texture. I think this red bag was just right, with the golden links of the chain and envelope structure. Below a shot of my fringed denim jeans, the “Gucci” looking shoes from Portugal , and the wisp of olive-green from my vest.
After going downtown to see friends I went back uptown to where I live. I had lunch at the Upper East Café . The food was delicious and simple . I sat near a sunny window and enjoyed the view of passersby. Later, indoors I thought to add my fish net socks from Aldo US . You can’t see it but they are trimmed with pearls and add texture and attitude. I wear this with block heels, and not stilettos for a PG look!
The winter chill will arrive tomorrow. It has been in the 60’s and seventies here, but tonight it drops to near 20! Brrr. I am glad I have so many coats, gloves and scarves to keep me warm. I love to layer, mastering layers for any season is so important for comfort and is such a stylish way to keep your wardrobe fresh.
Are you ready to hibernate ? I am getting ready to be. I am buying gifts, feathering my nest, and thinking happily about the holidays which are so close on the horizon .
Sending warm hugs and thank you to my loyal readers, I know it is so much easier to glance on Instagram, and hit the like button! I do appreciate that you are here !
Stay warm. Stay cool; stay just right!
