I always find Thanksgiving to be a good time to reflect, wind down, and to take some time to put things into perspective. I wear bright colors, and feel holiday ready. Thanksgiving gratitude fills my heart.
Thanksgiving gratitude is a time specific emotion; time to acknowledge all that I am thankful for.
Below, sunny skies and a red coat have me feeling holiday ready.
Below a shot of my friend at lunch. Chic, beautiful inside and out!
We passed a bakery and decided that Chestnut tarts would be a perfect thing to bring to the Thanksgiving holiday dinner. I have two coming up… Doubly grateful , talk about Thanksgiving Gratitude !
My sister-in-law, and her husband, did a fabulous job preparing a feast for a very large family gathering. Their house was beautifully decorated and lavish with Thanksgiving decorations, and the warm colors we associate with Thanksgiving gratitude : the spirit of thanksgiving.
I wore a brocade jacket thrifted many years ago. The style is trending now, but for me it remains a classic. I felt holiday ready in these autumnal colors. My nephews were running in the backyard and I was looking out the window.
The lovely tabelscape and rich decor of my sister-in- law’s house. I love the rich wine color of the walls, trimmed with white chair molding, such a crisp contrast, and perfect for the season. I also love the murano glass and sterling serving pieces. Old world beauty.
So very much to be grateful for this year. Yes, there were some sad events, but overall I feel so lucky to have such good friends, family, a rich social network online , and in real life. My bevy of friends who support me, and keep me balanced and well. I so appreciate each and everyone ! My loving husband of 34 years… My adult children doing well. SO MUCH! Thanksgiving gratitude is such a warm, palpable and welcomed presence in my heart .
Do you feel gratitude on this holiday, assuming of course, you celebrate it? What do you feel most grateful for?
Hello dear Elle,
hope you having a great time during the Thanksgiving Holiday 🙂
P.S.
I am trying to find you on Facebook… without any success.

I agree, yo have a lot to be thankful for. Nevertheless, you also have the right to feel sad. You are human.
On a more frivolous note: great coat and Chinese jacket.
Greetje
Thanks so much Greetje! Both are true, but happiness and gratitude is winning… one day soon I will share some good news. I do miss my dog though, as you know. ..
My Chinese brocade jacket was thrifted years ago, and my red velvet coat was bought on sale an upscale children’s shop, very inexpensive for such a coat ! I also bought the same coat in a peach bouclé !
❤️❤️❤️
I saw that red coat on Instagram and had to come comment on it again. It is amazing Elle. You’ve some great coat and jacket collection I must say.

Oh that jacket is beautiful, and you ended up complimenting the lovely thanksgiving decor with your outfit, haha! 🙂 Sounds like you have had a wonderful thanksgiving.
Hope you are having a good weekend, and you got some bargains in the sales. I made the most of some time off earlier this week and shopped at a few stores for Christmas presents but I haven’t bought anything in the sales yet.

we don’t celebrate thanksgiving in the philippines but I love the thought of taking time out to spend time with loved ones and reflect on things to be grateful for
I know you don’t. you do not need a formal occasion to be grateful for all you have though, I agree!
I hope all is well!

Elle,
It speaks again in your favour that you feel and live gratitude in such an impressing way! I think Thanksgiving is really a good time for reflecting the last time and you are doing so right to do this! Love both of your looks – always fantastic and inspiring seeing what you wear. And the decoration of your sister in law, simply wow!
