I am in cahoots with Nature: we are both sporting unlikely florals, defying the weather and the grey complacency of December.
In the second week of December, we have been graced with warm temperatures. What a sight to see flowers still in bloom alongside the lovely spectacle of Christmas lights. Inspired by this, I am wearing a lively pattern mix, punctuated by florals shining on silk charmeuse. I added a pendant necklace from a downtown shop.
There was the endless noise of jackhammers today, streets sectioned off because of falling bricks on a roof (hundreds of them falling like rain, falling from the top of a 35 story building near me, more on this tomorrow). But there was sunshine, thready but warm, and flowers! Is this really Manhattan?
On a side street, the sunlight is fading. Still, it is warm so no need for a hat or scarf. Happy me!
Just another day in this bustling city, where there is always a surprise in store.
Coat, Etro, via Bergdorf Goodman last year. (a rare treat!) | Skirt, also Etro, thrifted for $6.00 from the Housing Works, where proceeds go to benefit AIDS research. Floral wallpaper print blouse is also a thrifted find by Ann Taylor. Bag: Chanel in caviar, Shoes Cape Robbin, via Zulily.com, a favorite flash sale site.
I created a Polyvore set that will be published very soon for shopping inspiration! And for more inspiration on pattern mixing please visit two blogging friends with great skills in this arena. Alice of Happiness at Mid Life, and Suzanne of SuzanneCorillo.com
